Callanwolde Fine Arts Center

Callanwolde Fine Arts Center is an art community non-profit, two miles east of downtown Atlanta on Briarcliff Road. The center itself is a building of 27,000 square meters, Tudor-Gothic that was completed in 1920 Callanwolde was home to Howard Candler, son of the founder Asa Candler Coca-Cola. Howard Candler was president of Coca-Cola 1916-1923. The building was designed by Henry Hornbostel, who designed many buildings in the near Emory University. The vast area comprising gardens, meadows, hiking trails, a rock garden and a conservatory. Callanwolde is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The house and grounds are maintained by DeKalb County.

Callanwolde mission is the preservation, restoration and development of Callanwolde cultural heritage, and as a leading art of public participation and a cultural center. Callanwolde offers a wide range of courses for adults and children in visual arts, literature and arts. The center also works with community outreach programs to introduce the visual and performing arts to underserved communities in Metro Atlanta.
