Superheroes – Now and Then
For years, men and women of all ages have been fascinated by super heroes. Successful film characters, comic books and clothes, super-heroes are a huge part of American culture. Spider-Man made his debut in 1960, comics, and soon became an icon for the world’s children. As Spider-Man, to begin with, many superheroes as comic characters, before getting a place in Hollywood. The collectors can benefit enormously from their treasures. Superhero comics are not only a sought-after by collectors. Characters who have been around for decades, can go for dollars high, especially if kept in its original packaging and in excellent condition. Some spend hundreds if not thousands, to build their collection. Most adult collectors began to put together their favorite stocks for the first time in childhood, when the use of their favorite hero or heroes.
Some of America’s obsession with the superhero, is the notion that they can do so many things that “normal” people can not be fly like Superman or climb buildings like Spider-Man. In addition, superheroes are seen as many “normal” when not in costume – as Clark Kent and Peter Parker. Boys and girls of all ages dream of being able to turn into a person with incredible powers, with more opportunities than their wildest dreams. The defeat of a villain to save the life of an entire city, the hero admired and adored by fans young and old. And superheroes are not just for boys and men, but girls too. Wonder Woman is one of the most famous superheroes of all time. As Halloween rolls around this year, some of the most popular costumes for children are Captain America, Green Lantern and Thor.
